1. Is this an ACEM accredited conference?

Yes, this conference is pending approval with both ACEM and ACRRM for CPD points

2. Who should attend FLTR:ED Conferences

FLTR:ED is targeted to doctors, nurses, paramedics and students that work in Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Critical Care as well as those working in the Pre-Hospital and Retrieval space. We aim discuss the key concepts that underpin resuscitation and trauma care so that these lessons can be applied to your own clinical setting. Additionally we aim to deliver evidence based updates on a number of specialist topics from outside the critical care space in order to broaden the evidence based practice of all clinicians.

3. What can I claim through my hospital CME fund?

1. Conference registration fee

2. Accommodation to the value of a standard room at the conference location for 5-nights (ie. 4-days of the conference plus the night prior)

3. Return flights (including business flights if flying >4 hours) as long as the duration of the trip does not exceed 12 business days inclusive of travel time

4. Airport transfer costs

5. Per diem for a total of 6-days (ie. 4-days of conference plus the day before and day after as long as these are not also travel days)

6. Childcare expenses for primary carer

7. Travel insurance (for either the duration of the trip or 50% of an annual policy)

NB: above information is general advice only and may vary based on employer, state in which you work and other variables.

4. What if I don't have CME, is this conference tax deductible?

You can claim all of the above as a tax deduction through your ATO tax declaration (except for points 5, 6 and 7) so long as the CME activity is reasonably considered to be a means to "increase the knowledge, capabilities or skills you need to earn your income in your current employment".
